Specialist: Skills Development Facilitator (SDF)

We are currently recruiting for a Specialist Skills Development Facilitator to join our Learning and Development team based in Sandton, Johannesburg. The main focus of the role will be on managing the relationships between the group and various Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) whilst assuming responsibility for planning, implementation and reporting of training initiatives within the organisation.

Education

  • A Matric Certificate or Equivalent NQF Level 4 Qualification
  • SDF Qualification or Cert, Diploma in ODEDTP

Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working as a Skills Development Facilitator
  • Experience in compiling and submitting Workplace Skills Plan (WSP)
  • Experience in compiling and submitting an Annual Training Report (ATR)
  • Experience working with Discretionary Grants Funding Windows successful completion of the applications with the relevant SETAs
  • Good understanding of the Skills Development Levies Act of 1999
  • Knowledgeable on Learnerships, Skills Programmes, Bursaries and Internships

Responsibilities

  • Manage any SETA led initiatives as approved by the business
  • Conduct annual training needs analysis and skills planning
  • Ensure a training plan including training needs is formulated
  • Determining the skills gap when given a strategic plan and the profile of the present skills levels of the workforce
  • Work with Line Managers and staff to ensure that they understand the personal development plans
  • Support the implementation of Personal Development Plans for teams and individuals
  • Work with line managers to ascertain and develop skills needs to drive high performance culture.
  • Provide guidance and support on Skills Development to the Learning Consultants
  • Establish and maintain a central interface between all key SDF functions e.g. Compliance, Sales, Operations, HR, Finance etc.
  • Drive and monitor progress of training implementation against training plans
  • Ensure WSP/ATR compliance and accurate submission
  • Report on all training activities for the organisation
  • Compiling and monitoring of training statistics for various entities on an online platform.
  • Provide effective professional insight to managers and employees regarding the learning and development legislative requirements, policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Facilitation of learning and development of employees and manage employee skills progression.
  • Engage with managers and employees to ensure that the organisation complies with relevant training legislations (RE, FAIS, Health & Safety etc)
  • Keep up to date with legislative changes in order to ensure adherence and compliance mitigating risk to the organisation
  • Coordinate and track BBBEE SDA spend and compliance
  • Support the skills spend by guiding business on relevant to needs and gap analysis
  • Champion cost saving initiatives within the department
  • Represent the Learning department on the Transformation Committee in order to ensure skills development compliance
