We are currently recruiting for a Technical Lead to join our team based in Sandton, Johannesburg. The role will focus on ensuring smooth functioning of all technical operations, identifying project requirements and developing design structure.

Education

• A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent NQF Level 6 / 7 qualification in IT or Computer Sciences.
• Relevant Information Technology certificate(s) in software development.
• TOGAF Certification (preferred)
• Current MCSD (preferred)

Experience - Essential

• A strong understanding of core object-oriented software design patterns.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps, continuous integration and automated deployment.
• Experience in working in an AGILE Development environment.

Experience - Preferred

• 1-3 years of experience in WordPress development and front-end web development.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
• Familiarity with responsive and mobile-first design principles.
• Basic understanding of digital marketing concepts such as SEO, content marketing, and social media.
• Experience with popular WordPress page builders and plugins.
• Working knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• WordPress Development
  • Build, customize, and maintain WordPress websites, themes, and plugins.
  • Implement responsive designs and ensure consistent user experiences across various devices and browsers.
  • Collaborate with product owners and bring their concepts to life on WordPress platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to WordPress websites.
• Front-end Development
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code.
  • Ensure websites are visually appealing, user-friendly, and optimized for performance.
• Digital Marketing Integration
  • Assist in the integration of digital marketing tools such as Google Analytics, SEO plugins, and social media sharing functionalities.
  • Implement basic on-page SEO principles to optimize content for search engines.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to design and develop landing pages, email templates, and other marketing assets.
• Content Management
  • Upload, format, and manage website content, including text, images, videos, and other media.
  • Ensure content is consistent with brand guidelines and messaging.
• Website Maintenance
  • Regularly update and maintain WordPress installations, themes, and plugins.
  • Basic understanding of website security and ability to implement necessary updates and patches.
• Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with product owners to align on project goals and requirements.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and provide technical insights to enhance digital marketing strategies.
• Continuous Learning
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in both WordPress development and digital marketing.
